Adam Reynolds BHSC (Kin), CSCS
Kinesiologist - Conditioning Specialist


Adam is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario with a Specialized Honours Degree in Kinesiology and Health Science. He is also a certified strength and conditioning specialist, certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Adam is currently working on his Doctor of Chiropractic at Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto. This edification distinguishes Adam as a fitness and exercise specialist. With years of hands-on training experience and a solid health oriented academic background, Adam has been shaped into an individual who has both the knowledge and personality to enable clients to quickly obtain the results they desire.

Adam has experience working with individuals with varied fitness levels. He has trained clients with conditions ranging from disc herniations, spinal stenosis, hip replacement surgeries, obesity and eating disorders. Adam has been a speaker at several nurseries and garden centres around the GTA, presenting topics including back education and safe lifting techniques to landscapers and every-day gardeners alike.

From a young age, Adam has participated in sports such as hockey, golf, squash and baseball which he continued to play at a varsity level. With a strong knowledge of what it takes to succeed at a competitive level, Adam specializes in building muscle and strength functionally. Adam’s focus in the gym is on core stability, weight management (both gain and loss) and functionality for everyday life.

Certified Athletic Therapist - Kinesiologist - Conditioning Specialist

Alan graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Physical Health and Education. After completing his degree, he continued his education by attending Sheridan College's Sports Injury Management (Athletic Therapy) program and graduated with Honours. To add to his skills as a Certified Athletic Therapist, Alan completed a Muscle Energy Techniques course as well as a First Responder program.

To complement his extensive education, Alan has worked in many different environments, including sports injury clinics, fitness facilities, health and wellness centres, and Women's College Hospital. Alan is also the Head Athletic Therapist and the strength and conditioning coach of many North York Rangers AAA hockey teams (Peewee to Junior A). He is also the off ice strength and conditioning coordinator of Hockey Performance Training (HPT). Over the years, Alan has trained many men and women hockey players from Junior A, OHL, NCAA, QMJHL, AHL, CIS, OCAA, and members from the Ontario U18 hockey team. In addition to his intense work with hockey, he worked with many other sports/events, including the Toronto Marathon, various triathlons, golf (both professional and amateur), Ontario Rugby Association, Skate Canada, field lacrosse, fencing, and soccer.

With Alan's education and experience, he is perfectly suited to create a program to specifically fit the needs and goals of the client. Alan’s main philosophy is that everything begins and ends with your core. Your core is not only your abdominal muscles, but all the muscles that surround the hips, back and lumbar spine. He firmly believes that your core is the foundation upon which you build your house and if the foundation is weak, then the walls and roof will collapse.



Brendan Peel

Brendan Peel BKin, B.ed, CPT
Kinesiologist - Conditioning Specialist


Brendan is a graduate of the University of Toronto with a degree in Physical and Health Education and along with a Bachelor of Education. He is also a certified as a personal training specialist by Can Fit Pro and has supplemented his training by completing his levels 1 & 2 of the National Coaching Certification Program. Brendan has experience working with clients of all fitness levels, from beginners to elite athletes. His positive and upbeat personality will be a motivating factor for you to reach your training goals.

Throughout his life, Brendan has had a love for physical activity and sport. As the three year captain of the University of Toronto volleyball team and through his experience playing at the provincial and national levels, he has gained a wealth of knowledge in sport specific training. Brendan is skilled in providing intense full body workouts using agility drills, plyometrics, speed work and jump training.

Brendan also has extensive experience in track and long distance running. He has trained for and successfully completed many half as well as two full marathons, providing him a wealth of knowledge in nutrition and unique training strategies. As a SHAPE high performance personal trainer, he will be dedicated and flexible when providing you with a workout that will push you to your max and ensure that you attain your training and performance goals.

Brendan has an enthusiastic personality and believes in pushing his clients while maintaining a fun upbeat attitude towards training. Achieving your goals is his first priority and he will strive to be right there with your every step of the way.



Carly Spragg
Carly Spragg

Carly Marie Spragg BSc. (Kin), PFLC, CFC
Kinesiologist - Conditioning Specialist


Carly graduated from the University of Ottawa with a BSc. Honours Degree in Human Kinetics. She is currently assisting with research in the Metabolic Lab at the University of Toronto, where she plans to join the Masters program in 2007.

As a running coach and personal trainer, Carly specializes in a variety of running-specific programs designed on a wide spectrum from weight loss to marathon training to track and field performance. As a current triathlete and marathon runner, Carly has a grasp on how to fit a training program into any busy lifestyle, focusing on safe, yet challenging progression, technique and nutrition concerns to support recovery.

Although passionate about sport-specific training, Carly is also recognized by the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology as a Professional Fitness and Lifestyle Consultant, which offers counselling on a wide variety of the aspects of overall well-being. As a competitive soccer player for the past 10 years (playing at the provincial level at one point), she understands the balance, cross/weight training and base-training aspects of sport that can easily apply to functional and daily living.

While assisting with fitness testing of the Canadian National Golf team and in the Cystic Fibrosis Lab at The Hospital for Sick Children, Carly gained extensive experience in the assessment of physical performance in many different situations and demographics.

Carly is passionate about fitness and health, and loves performing and feeling her best. She is excited to help SHAPE clients achieve this same feeling and reach their own goals!

Kinesiologist - Conditioning Specialist


Craig is a graduate of York University with a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Kinesiology. While currently completing his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC), Craig has recently expanded his passion for sport by representing the College during competitions throughout the United States.

As a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, Craig has gained the fundamental skills of functional performance training. In addition, he is a certified Personal Training Specialist through Can Fit-Pro allowing him to work with a range of clientele from beginners to advanced athletes. Furthermore, Craig has worked as a certified fitness consultant after obtaining his CFC from the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP). A firm believer in health and wellness, Craig has furthered his knowledge by becoming a certified Active Release Technique (ART®) provider.

Through effective communication, Craig provides the necessary positive cues allowing his clients to maintain focus while simultaneously increasing self-confidence. By utilizing a diverse variety of training stimuli and adhering to High Performance Personal Training (HPPT), he is proficient at maximizing his clients' abilities, and as a result, achieving their desired results. With this wide-ranging background, Craig is able to provide clients with the necessary tools to achieve long-term success.



Dagmara Suchogorska BSc. (Kin), CPT

Dagmara is recognized by the Ontario Kinesiology Association as a Registered Kinesiologist. She completed her studies at York University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Kinesiology and Health Science. In addition to her degree, Dagmara has completed Level 1 of the National Coaching Certificate Program (NCCP).

During university, Dagmara's pursuit for excellence enabled her to attain vast knowledge in her areas of interest (exercise physiology, nutrition and fitness). Dagmara's thirst for knowledge in the wellness sector continues to grow. She makes it a priority to stay up-to-date on the latest scientific research.

While completing her degree, Dagmara volunteered her time in the continuing care unit at Trillium Health Centre. Her time at the hospital provided Dagmara with first-hand experience working with patients with chronic illnesses and functional disabilities.

As a health care professional and a Certified Personal Trainer, Dagmara is excited to utilize her knowledge and passion in helping SHAPE clients live a healthy and energized lifestyle. She believes that with her clients' commitments and a very individualized integrated training approach, no reasonable goal should ever be out of reach.

Daniela graduated from York University with a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Kinesiology and Health Science. A supplementary certificate in Fitness Assessment and Exercise Counseling makes her an invaluable asset to the fitness and wellness team at SHAPE.

As a personal trainer and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Daniela has widespread knowledge and experience in sports performance, weight loss, pre and postnatal conditioning, as well as balance, stability, and functional training. Daniela is also recognized by the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology as a Professional Fitness and Lifestyle Consultant (PFLC) and by the Ontario Kinesiology Authority as a Certified Kinesiologist.

While assisting with medical and fitness testing for the Toronto Maple Leafs, the NHLPA Entry Drafts, and the Ontario Firefighters, Daniela gained extensive experience in the assessment of physical performance as well as the ability to motivate high performance athletes.

In her role as Treatment Plan Coordinator at SHAPE Health and Wellness Centre, Daniela is passionate about helping all clients achieve their goals. She works closely with each client to ensure proper progress is made and each life is enriched and revolutionized by their program at SHAPE.

Danielle has always been interested in the science of rehabilitation, fitness, and wellness. Prior to graduating with distinction with a Masters of Science in Physiotherapy from the University of Toronto, Danielle earned an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from McGill University. Throughout her education, Danielle's commitment to excellence attracted recognition and awards for top clinical and academic achievements.

By completing numerous post-graduate courses offered through professional associations, Danielle consistently stays current on new treatment approaches. Her continued training has included advanced manual therapy courses, and training in myofascial mobilization techniques, acupuncture, Active Release Technique (ART®), Pilates and advanced core stabilization. Danielle is certified as a Fitness Consultant and is experienced as a high performance personal trainer.

Having taken advantage of the full scope of training available within the health and fitness industry, she provides her clients with highly personalized and extremely effective treatment programs, using a full spectrum of integrated treatment approaches.

Danielle has acquired valuable experience helping both seasoned and casual athletes achieve their short-term rehabilitation and long-term athletic goals. Danielle's experience working alongside colleagues including trainers and therapists treating Olympic medalists and professional sports athletes enhanced her skills with regard to providing highly specific and customized sports and fitness training. Danielle's client base includes individuals varying widely in age, type of injury, fitness level, rehabilitation needs, and personal goals.

Danielle empowers her clients to achieve their goals by educating them about the science of rehabilitation and sports training. Each of her clients learn about their injuries and any contributing factors, how rehabilitation will assist with their progress, and what individual role they can play in accelerating their progress and limiting injury recurrences. By educating each client about their role in the treatment process, faster recoveries, sustained improvements, and greater success in attaining wellness goals on the part of her clients are achieved.

David St. Bernard

David is a graduate of York University with a Specialized Honours Degree in Kinesiology and Health Science. While at York, David also obtained a supplementary certificate in the Fitness Assessment and Exercise Counselling stream which makes him a valuable member of the SHAPE training team. He is also recognized as a Certified Personal Trainer with the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology (CSEP).

During the course of his studies at York, David acquired a great deal of experience being part of their varsity track and field team. His accomplishments range from being a two time national champion in decathlon and triple jump, to being a member of Canada's junior national team. This continued involvement with high calibre athletics has provided David with the necessary tools to extract the most out of each workout as well as an intimate understanding of high performance training.

David has worked in the performance lab at York University as a fitness practitioner, where he performed the physicals and performance assessments on GTA firefighter applicants, varsity and professional athletes.

Over the years, Dev has applied his expertise in physical rehabilitation and exercise science to help numerous clients return to maximal function regardless of age, ability or previous experience. His clients have ranged from elite professional and amateur athletes to soccer moms and weekend warriors, all looking to realize their full potential.

Prior to earning his Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta, he completed an Honours Bachelor of Science from Queen’s University at Kingston. Since graduation, Dev has expanded his clinical arsenal by completing numerous post-graduate continuing education courses and seminars including specialized training in advanced manual therapy and exercise.

He is fully credentialed in Active Release Techniques (ART®), educated in myofascial and muscle mobilization, and is trained in medical acupuncture through the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute. In addition to his training as a physiotherapist, Dev is further recognized by the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and holds over a decade of experience in health and fitness.

He has invested significant time studying high-performance athletics, weightlifting, advanced core training and sports nutrition. He is trusted by his high-performance athletes, as well as his “everyday” clients, to apply sound and effective scientific exercise principles to achieve exceptional results.

Eric received his degree in Physical Health and Education from the University of Toronto, where he is currently working towards his second degree in Education. He has supplemented his education by completing theory levels 1 & 2 of the National Coaching Certification Program, as well as becoming certified as a Personal Trainer Specialist by Can Fit-Pro. Eric has extensive experience working with a variety of client populations, including children and adults with disabilities, weekend warriors, and athletes in many sports from junior to professional levels.

Eric has maintained an affinity for exercise and sports throughout his life. As a quarterback and defensive back with the University of Toronto Varsity Blues football team, Eric gained first-hand education in speed and agility training, as well as power performance lifting, techniques he skillfully incorporates into his training sessions at SHAPE.

Eric has a multitude of coaching experience at the junior development and High-school level, where he has been a coordinator and guest coach for many institutions including the University of Alberta, McMaster University, Spruce Grove Composite High School and East York Collegiate High School.

Eric believes that the realms of fitness and wellness are consistently changing, and it is our duty as professionals to recognize the latest research and apply those principles to our training techniques accordingly. Dr. Joel N. Kerr received his Doctor of Chiropractic from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC). He also holds a Bachelor of Physical Education Health degree from the University of Toronto (minor in Sociology). Dr. Kerr excelled in his studies at the University of Toronto and CMCC where he was recognized as a leader with numerous awards such as the PHE Alumnae Shield Graduate Award, the Gordon Cressy Leadership Award and the Dr. Colin A. Greenshields Award.

Joel has completed the Contemporary Medical Acupuncture course for health professionals at McMaster University. He is also a certified Active Release Technique ART® provider of the lower limb. Dr. Kerr firmly believes that these adjunctive therapies combined with the chiropractic approach to health care will be effective in the management of acute or chronic injuries sustained at work or play.

In addition to being a Chiropractor and a Medical Acupuncturist, Dr. Kerr is a CAN FIT PRO certified personal trainer specialist, BOSU integrated balance training specialist and a Level I/ II coach through the National Canadian Coaching Program. He is currently developing a strength and conditioning program for a grassroots basketball program called, Masters of Basketball Inc. This program is designed to prepare elite high school basketball players in the Greater Toronto Area to compete at the National Collegiate Athletic Association and Canadian Inter-University Sport level.

Regardless of your physical state the goal of treatment with Dr. Kerr is to return the ownership of health back to you, the patient. With his extensive skill set and pure passion for health care, Dr. Kerr will assist individuals pursuing their goals of being pain free and healthy, while increasing strength, speed and confidence so that activities at the highest level of competition or recreational can be enjoyed. Kinesiologist - Conditioning Specialist


Katie is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Kinesiology. She is a clinical intern in her final year of study at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC), and will graduate with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree in June 2008. Katie is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and has also completed level one of the National Coaching Certification Program.

Katie is a certified provider of upper limb, lower limb and spine Active Release Techniques (ART®), a soft tissue technique that treats overuse conditions. She has also completed Graston M1, an instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization technique that enables the effective break down of scar tissue and fascial restrictions. These supplementary courses are an excellent complement to her manual therapy and therapeutic rehabilitation.

Katie has experience working with athletes from many levels of competition, from amateur athletes, to professional athletes in the OHL. As a chiropractic intern, Katie has worked extensively with a wide variety of individuals and conditions, from minor musculoskeletal complaints to those suffering from osteoarthritis, disc herniations, sport-related injuries, whiplash-associated disorders, headaches and plantar fasciitis, to name a few. With her experience in Therapeutic Horseback Riding, Katie has also worked with individuals with physical and mental disabilities, including muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, brain tumors, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, and Down syndrome.

Katie has a strong interest in human anatomy, exercise physiology, and rehabilitation. Her extensive knowledge of biomechanics and anatomy of the human body allows her to implement training and rehabilitation programs to improve core stability, strength, endurance, and power, all of which make her a valuable addition to the SHAPE team.

Katie is a positive and highly motivating person who is passionate about health and fitness and takes a personal interest in helping clients reach their personal goals while learning and having fun!

Khanh Vy

Khanh Vy BPHE, CSCS, CFC, CPT
Kinesiologist - Conditioning Specialist


Khanh graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Physical and Health Education Degree. Furthermore, he is also recognized as a Certified Personal Trainer and a Certified Fitness Consultant with the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology (CSEP). During his time at the University of Toronto, Khanh acquired a great deal of experience working and being part of one of the top university Dragon Boat teams in Canada (New College Dragons).

Khanh implemented and structured training programs and provided fitness testing for the team. He has also worked at the Olympic High Performance Centre located at the Fitness Institute, where he helped test and train various competitive athletes and teams including the Canadian Women’s Hockey team and the Junior A Men’s Basketball team. His keen interest in developing proper, concise and ultra-efficient conditioning programs for both the general and athletic population will ensure that Khanh succeeds with helping you attain your goals.



Marco Tocco

Kinesiologist - Conditioning Specialist


Marco is a graduate of York University with a Specialized Honours Degree in Kinesiology and Health Science. While in University, he also obtained a supplementary certificate in the Fitness Assessment and Exercise Counselling stream. Marco is completing his final year as a chiropractic intern in becoming a Doctor of Chiropractic at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC).

Marco is a certified Active Release Techniques provider in upper limb and spine (lower limb to follow), which is a great complement to his manual therapy. He has also completed module 1 for Graston technique, which utilizes instrument-assistive devices for soft tissue injuries. Marco holds a certificate in Contemporary Medical Acupuncture for health professionals from McMaster University. Marco is also recognized by the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP) as a Certified Exercise Physiologist (CEP). He also holds a Level 1 National Coaching Certificate.

Marco has worked in the performance lab at York University as a fitness practitioner, where he performed the physicals and performance assessments on GTA firefighter applicants, varsity and professional athletes. Marco also has extensive experience working in the health field as a Kinesiologist. He has experience working with clients with simple aches and pains to those suffering from disc herniations, stroke, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, multiple sclerosis and cerebral palsy, to name a few. This experience working with other health professionals such as medical doctors, chiropractors and physiotherapists has persuaded him to fulfil is dream of becoming a doctor of chiropractic. Marco has extensive knowledge of the human body in the areas of human anatomy and physiology which will make him a great addition to the SHAPE team.

Marco specializes in core training, fat loss, muscle building and sculpting, functional strength and endurance training. Marco is a physically fit individual, as he is a firm believer that one should practice what they preach.



Michael Anning

Dr. Michael Anning DC, BA (Kin), CSCS, CPT
Chiropractor - Conditioning Specialist


Michael graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Kinesiology (Dean's Honours List) from the University of Western Ontario. He then went on to achieve his Doctor of Chiropractic from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC). Michael has completed additional supplementary courses in Acupuncture, Active Release Techniques (ART®) and is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Dr. Anning’s clinical experience as a chiropractic intern took place at the CMCC Clinic and the Sherbourne Health Centre.

Dr. Anning has worked with athletes from all levels of competition, from amateur athletes to professional athletes in the NHL, OHL, NCAA, AHL and the CIAU levels. Michael is active in the local community and competed in the 2006 Full Toronto Marathon and 2007 Wasaga Beach Olympic Distance Triathlon, as well as competing in the York Men’s Hockey League Premier Division. He has competed at both the Junior "B" level in the Greater Ontario Hockey league and the Junior "A" level in the Ontario Hockey League.

Michael has a keen interest in sports specific personal training and fitness, incorporating functional movements into dynamic personal training sessions. He utilizes a comprehensive health and wellness approach to training, implementing programs to improve speed, strength, balance, power, and core stability. Employing his solid knowledge of biomechanics and anatomy to best suit each and every client's goals and needs is one of Michael's key strengths. He is specifically interested is low back rehabilitation through core strengthening as well as exercise and its role in low back pain prevention.

Saro earned a Master of Kinesiology degree from the University of Calgary. His graduate work centered on exercise physiology and its practical application to health and fitness.

Saro is deeply committed to the improvement of human performance. He is a certified Exercise Physiologist (CEP), Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), and Personal Trainer (NSCA-CPT). These certifications have allowed him to test and train various members of the Canadian Olympic Team in sports including hockey, beach volleyball, boxing and tennis. He has also worked with competitive athletes to enhance their performance in golf, skiing and the ironman competition.

Dr. Sender Deutsch is one of the creators and founders of SHAPE Health and Wellness Centre. SHAPE’S comprehensive and multidisciplinary concept was derived from his strong educational background and in-depth experience within the health and wellness industry. As a result of his experience treating numerous patients and clients, Dr. Deutsch came to the realization that a facility with this orientation did not exist. SHAPE’s goal is to provide a personalized service, guided by health care professionals, in an upscale friendly atmosphere.

SHAPE was developed to revolutionize your lifestyle. It is Toronto's first truly integrated boutique health and wellness centre offering a total mind and body approach to your health.

Dr. Sender Deutsch is a graduate of the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC), where he obtained his Doctor of Chiropractic and Diploma in Acupuncture. Dr. Deutsch has successfully completed Level Two of the Rehabilitation Sciences Fellowship program with the American Chiropractic Rehabilitation Board (ACRB).

Prior to attending CMCC, Dr. Deutsch studied Kinesiology and Sports Therapy at York University. Dr. Deutsch is also a Certified Active Release Techniques Provider (Upper Extremity, Lower Extremity, Spine and Nerve Entrapment), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Personal Trainer of the National Strength and Conditioning Association, Certified Golf Fitness Instructor of The Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) and Certified Sports Movement Specialist. He is also certified in Custom Orthotic Therapy and Bracing. Dr. Deutsch has also taken post graduate courses in Medical Acupuncture, Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS), Active Release Techniques (ART®), Sports Medicine, Manual Medicine, Functional Training, and Golf Performance Training.

Dr. Deutsch completed his clinical internship at the Sherbourne Health Centre at St. Michael's Hospital. He actively participates in sports medicine and orthopedic rounds at Mount Sinai and North York General Hospital. He has also participated in spinal orthopedic rounds at Toronto Western Hospital and family practice rounds at St. Michael's Hospital.

He has a wealth of experience training and rehabilitating people of all ages. He has worked with amateur and professional athletes from the NHL, OHL, NCAA, national skiers, adventure racers and has worked with various media personalities, celebrity clients and CEO's. In addition, Sender has experience with everyday people including both weekend warriors to those who led previous sedentary lifestyles. Dr. Deutsch has been a faculty member at CMCC in the Department of Clinical Education since 2002.

Dr. Deutsch has been featured on City TV, CP24, Slice TV - Doctor In The House, Three Takes, and The Mom Show, CFRB Talk Radio and appeared in numerous articles within Toronto Life, Oxygen, Hello and Flare magazines, The Toronto Sun, Metro News, Fitness Business Canada, Canadian Chiropractor, Chiropractic Economics, 2-Magazine, Wedding Bells, London Press, and CA magazine.

Dr. Deutsch's approach to treatment and training is totally revolutionary and unique. He has developed a two-step program called Integrated Therapy and Training (ITT) integrating state-of-the art Physical Therapy with High Performance Personal Training techniques. Each treatment is one-on-one and constantly monitored to ensure progress and success in a timely fashion.

Educating the patient is an essential component of any rehabilitation or fitness program. Therefore, each patient will be guided to effectively manage and prevent his or her condition from recurring in the future. An individualized program will be designed to rehabilitate your injury, expedite your recovery, achieve your goals and optimize your performance.

Dr. Thistle is a clinic director at SHAPE Health and Wellness Centre, and has helped numerous clients achieve optimal health by relieving their pain, strengthening their bodies, and revolutionizing their lifestyles.

Shawn graduated (magna cum laude) from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto and holds an Honours Degree (summa cum laude) in Kinesiology from McMaster University. He also holds a certificate in Contemporary Medical Acupuncture from McMaster University, and is a Certified Active Release Techniques (ART®) Provider. As a compliment to his manual medicine and acupuncture training, Shawn is also certified as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist (C.S.C.S.) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association NSCA-USA, and has been involved in fitness and competitive sport-specific training for over 10 years.

Shawn believes strongly in educating clients in all aspects of health and fitness. His diverse background and skill set allow him to administer effective integrated treatments to assist in the areas of pain management, acute injury care, post-surgical rehabilitation, functional training and rehabilitation, weight loss and balanced nutrition, increasing muscle mass, improving athletic performance, flexibility, cardiovascular fitness, stress management and sport-specific personal training. Shawn enjoys working closely with each client throughout their therapy and training program, instilling knowledge of how the body responds to therapy and exercise as progress is made in achieving health and personal fitness goals.

Upon graduation, Shawn pursued his passion for educating by becoming a part-time faculty member in the Department of Clinical Education at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, where he continues to facilitate a small-group clinical education course for third year students.

Dr. Thistle has been featured on CBC television, and as part of the SHAPE team in articles in the Toronto Sun, Toronto Life, Flare Magazine, and Canadian Chiropractor. He also contributes articles toCanadian Chiropractor Magazine and numerous online newsletters and publications. Shawn also founded and administers an online subscription based service for manual medicine practitioners and students (chiropractors, physiotherapists, athletic therapists etc.), providing weekly reviews of scientific literature in an effort to bridge the gap between science and practice.
