FITNESS ASSESSMENTS

The journey toward optimal fitness should begin with a comprehensive functional assessment by the regulated health care professionals at SHAPE. During this consultation, the goals are to:
  1. Provide you with a current status report of your body composition, health and fitness level.
  2. Screen for, and assess any musculoskeletal injuries.
  3. Assess functional movement patterns and dynamic muscle function.
During the assessment, one of our high performance conditioning specialists will determine your fitness and lifestyle goals. They will then evaluate the following parameters utilizing current, valid, and efficient measurements, which can then be compared to age-matched, population-based normal values:
  1. Patient Statistics: Age, Weight, and Height
  2. Body Mass Index (BMI)
  3. Resting Heart Rate
  4. Resting Blood Pressure
  5. Body Composition - Fat and Lean Mass Percentages
  6. Anthropometric Measurements (Girth Measurements)
  7. Waist-Hip Ratio
  8. Muscular Strength
    • Standardized Push-Up Test
    • Hand Grip Strength Test
    • Curl-Up Test
  9. Flexibility
    • Sit and Reach Test
    • Shoulder Girdle Flexibility Test
  10. Aerobic and Anaerobic Submaximal Test
THESE TESTS WILL PROVIDE YOU WITH A "SNAPSHOT" OF YOUR CURRENT BODY COMPOSITION AND FITNESS LEVEL AND CAN BE REPEATED AT ANY TIME TO HELP YOU TRACK AND RECORD YOUR PROGRESS.
